COMPUTERS LEAD PRINTED-WIRING-BOARD MARKET

Worldwide production of printed-wiring boards and flexible circuits reached $26.4 billion in 1995, according to a new report from the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits, Northbrook III. The market was driven by demand for PWBs in the computer and communications segments, the report said. Multilayer PWBs accounted for 56% of the market, followed by single-sided and double-sided glass boards at 24%, according to the report.
