WORLDWIDE FLEX-CIRCUIT PRODUCTION

World production of flexible circuits is expected to continue to grow rapidly through the end of the century, according to a recent report from Tech-Search International Inc., Austin, Texas. Flexible circuits, with their superior lightness, thinness, and conformability, are finding use among electronics applications from consumer and medical to telecommunications, the report said. Deregulation of certain markets and the growing demand for smaller, lighter packaging are contributing to the flex-circuit boom, it noted.
