Describe the Dennis et al. GSS research model. What are two improvements?

The Dennis model displays an integration of several models used to conduct GSS research. This model presents some of the variables affecting group meetings, but the model does not include all possible variables.

One variable that can be added to this model is the facilitator. The knowledge and skill of the facilitator will determine how smoothly the meeting runs. If the facilitator selects a tool that is not appropriate for a particular task or problem, the meeting may be less effective. If the leader does not control the meeting well, it may digress from its original purpose, and may result in wasted time and effort. The personality of the facilitator may enhance participation and may affect how well conflicts are handled.

Other improvements are 2) separating individual from group characteristics and 3) clearly delineating in what phases  the variables occur.
