Jammin'
For a few years, some friends and I have been getting together
to play once a month or so, and occasionally a few other people drop in to get a
big jam session going. The core group is:
- Brian Reithel - Guitar and vocals
- Vickie Reithel - Drums
- Tony Ammeter - Guitar and vocals
- Me - Keyboards
At a recent session I recorded a few songs, which are
available below. NOTE: THESE SONGS WERE UNREHEARSED. That's not a brag, it's a
CAVEAT. We just started in playing and these are what we ended up doing. The
sound quality is not great, as I was using a cheap mic and it was positioned so
most of what you hear is ME (not on purpose) but you can get the general idea.
Our very welcome guests on these songs include:
- Donna Gurley - Mandolin and vocals
- Doug Gurley - 12 string and vocals
- Jesse Pinion - Guitar
- Mike Vanderlip - Bass
And here they are:
Margaritaville
Hardcore Troubadour
I'm Gonna Live Forever
A Bluegrass Madrigal
Desert of Sympathy
The following songs are from our session on February 23. Jesse
wasn't able to come, but the others were there.
Cocaine Blues
Hardcore Troubadour (again)
Shady Grove
The Weight
We didn't record anything for awhile, but here
are a few from June 9. These were the Brian, Del, and Tony core with Bart Garner
and Stuart Schafer doing a little singing and Charles Caruthers on the drums. I
used a Zoom H4 field recorder and touched things up a bit in Roxio's
MediaCreator 9.
Cocaine
Blues
Way Down In The Mine
I'm Gonna Live Forever
I'm So Lonesome
The Weight
